Owl Workshops in an exclusive and private environment

Photographing owls in their natural habitat is a challenge: they are elusive, nocturnal creatures that know how to stay hidden.

In this workshop, we remove those obstacles by providing a private environment with controlled wildlife, allowing you to work with complete ease. This way, you can focus on photographic techniques without interruptions, experiment with different perspectives and distances, and capture all the shots you desire.

The private estate where the workshop takes place is fully accessible for people of all ages and includes adaptations for those with reduced mobility, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the experience without limitations.

Species featured in the workshop

During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to photograph three of the most impressive nocturnal birds: the Eurasian Scops Owl, the Great Grey Owl, and the Eurasian Eagle-Owl.

  • Eurasian Scops Owl: The smallest nocturnal bird of prey in the Iberian Peninsula, this owl has cryptic plumage and small ear-like tufts that help it blend seamlessly into its surroundings. It can even mimic the appearance of tree branches, resulting in unique and intriguing photographs. Its large yellow eyes stand out in the darkness, making for striking portraits.

  • Euroasian eagle Owl (Bubo bubo): The largest owl in Europe, it has a mesmerizing orange gaze and unmistakable ear tufts. With its wings spread, it can reach a wingspan of nearly two meters. The way it extends its talons makes it a fascinating subject to photograph.

  • Great grey owl (Strix nebulosa): Its large, round face with concentric feather patterns is its most striking feature. It has a hypnotic expression, with yellow eyes that contrast against its grey plumage. In a snowy setting, its appearance becomes even more spectacular. The best part? You can photograph this incredible species without leaving Andalusia, as we recreate its habitat in a controlled environment.

We will tailor the setting to each species to achieve realistic and visually impactful images. Artificial snow will be used to recreate the Great Grey Owl’s habitat, wooded backgrounds for the Eurasian Scops Owl, and rocky elements for the Eurasian Eagle-Owl. This way, you can capture high-quality photographs with biological accuracy while enjoying the benefits of a controlled environment.
